State of Play

In yesterday’s less than stellar Sony State of Play, we got updates on games previously announced during Sony’s PS5 reveal event last year. At least they talked about FINAL FANTASY VII: REMAKE? Here’s everything announced during Sony’s State of Play.

Crash Bandicoot 4 – It’s About Time
It looks like Crash Bandicoot 4 – It’s About Time is getting a major update that will take advantage of the PS5 hardware. The update will run at 4K at 60FPS, make use of the Dual Sense’s Adaptive Triggers, and enhanced 3D audio.

One of my most anticipated PS5 games, Returnal is a fast-paced 3rd-person shooter with a world that evolves with each death. Keeping the planet of Atropos fresh and interesting as you explore. This rogue-like game promises a deep and engaging narrative where you’re stranded on a foreign planet searching for answers through your memories. Returnal lands on April 30th.

This hyper-stylized 3rd-person kung fu action game in which you become wiser in the arts after every death. The trailer featured a very iconic Oldboy-esque fight sequence with the protagonist showing off his hand-to-hand combat skills, dying, growing older, and continuing to push through. Sifu releases later this year.

Solar Ash
The beautiful follow-up game from the creators of Hyper Light Drifter, Solar Ash is an action-adventure platformer that relies on speed and mobility. Solar Ash will release later this year.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach
He’s back. This time on a much grander scale and upgraded for next-gen. Security Breach is the next installment in the FNAF franchise. FNAF: Security Breach takes the stage in 2021.

The delayed Deathloop finally has a release date. The frantic first-person shooter features 2 rival assassins trapped in an endless time loop is set to break free in May 2021.

An update is coming to FINAL FANTASY VII: REMAKE! In this episode Yuffie the NINJA/THIEF finally makes her debut in FFVII: REMAKE INTERGRADE!
