Square Enix has taken a page from Nintendo’s Nintendo Directs and Sony’s State of Play and brought us Square Enix Presents. A presentation of their upcoming game releases and announcements. Here’s everything announced during yesterday’s Square Enix Presents.


In a few short weeks, Outriders, Square Enix’s attempt at a looter shooter, is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Created by the folks that worked on the Gears of War series, Outriders is a highly customizable 3rd-person shooter with RPG elements. Explore the hostile environment of Enoch on April 1st. Did we mention it’s also coming straight to Game Pass on launch day?

Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series. The iconic heroine is getting a big celebration with a new anime series on Netflix, the next film’s reveal with Alicia Vikander, a collaboration with Tom Clancy’s Breakpoint, and War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Exvius. Also announced was a statue by WETA Workshop and an official Tomb Raider cookbook and travel guide. There’s more! The Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy releases today on Xbox and Playstation and is on sale for $19.99 until April 2nd! Lastly, Lara Croft has arrived in Fortnite alongside a Croft Manor playable hub.

Darius Cozmic Revelation

The shooter genre is alive and well. With this collection, you’ll receive two of the best with G-DARIUS and DARIUSBURST: Another Chronicle EX. Initially released in arcades and the PSP, you will soon be able to play these classics on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends

Bubble Bobble is back! Bub and Bob are back, and they’re bringing friends! Two additional friends, to be exact. With 200 stages to complete in this fantastic remaster, it looks like we’ll be having a blast revisiting this classic.

Marvel’s Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers announced upcoming enhancements. We can look forward to 60FPS at 4K resolution, higher resolution textures, improved destruction, faster load times, and a next-gen upgrade available at no additional cost. We also saw extended gameplay footage for Hawkeye. March will see the release of Operation: Hawkeye Future Imperfect, in Spring we’ll see the Tachyon Anomaly and Red Room Takeover, and this summer, we’ll see Project Omega and Wasteland Patrol. Alongside these releases, the game will see new gear and an increased level cap. Finally, they announced the Black Panther: War for Wakanda expansion, with the reveal of Black Panther as a playable character coming later this year.

Balan Wonderworld

In just over a week, Balan Wonderworld will be releasing on all major platforms, including PC. The platform game, reminiscent of Night Into Dreams, will be released on March 26th, along with a day one patch to address feedback from the recent demo.

Life is Strange: True Colors

Life is Strange is a fantastic award-winning drama series, and Square Enix gave us a glimpse at the upcoming entry. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the new protagonist Alex Cheni and what supernatural twists lie ahead in Life is Strange: True Colors on September 10th. If that wasn’t enough to be excited about, Square Enix announced the Life Is Strange Collection, a remaster of Life Is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm.


Project Athia was finally revealed as Forspoken, and it looks AMAZING. It’s like Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy had a baby! Not much information was given, but we are looking forward to hearing more about this exciting game.
