Today's Nintendo Direct

It’s finally here! After 5 long months, Nintendo gave us a full-featured Nintendo Direct with almost an hour of information about upcoming games spread out between now and 2022. What can we expect from Nintendo in 2021? Here’s everything announced in today’s Nintendo Direct!

The Games

Pyra/Mythra Blaze into Battle!
Pyra from Xenoblade Chronicles joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate—the 2-in-1 fighter releases this spring sometime in March.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout
That’s right! The wacky platformer battle-royale is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer! We’re still waiting on details for this one, but we’re definitely excited about this announcement.

Outer Wilds
The rogue-like action-adventure that is Outer Wilds is set to land on Nintendo Switch this summer.

Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir / Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind
This is a multi-game announcement. These narrative-driven mystery games, recently exclusive to Japan, are coming to the US for the first time on May 14.

Samurai Warriors 5
The latest entry in the hack and slash franchise is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. We’re still waiting on details but the game is expected to be released sometime during the summer of 2021.

Three Hours Later…

Legend of Mana
After 20 years the remaster of Legend of Mana is coming to Nintendo Switch with updated pixelated HD graphics and newly arranged music! The PlayStation classic releases June 24th!

Monster Hunter: Rise
We got a new trailer from the upcoming monster hunting game which featured new areas, monsters, gameplay, and storyline elements. Monster Hunter: Rise releases on March 26 alongside a themed Nintendo Switch and Pro Controller!

Mario Golf Super Rush
Mario hits the golf course for the first time in years with motion controls included. There’s even a story mode this time around where you take your Mii character and level them up! Mario Golf Super Rush tees off on June 25th.

Tales of the Borderlands
The episodic choice-driven narrative adventure comedy is finally coming to Nintendo Switch. With the recent deals on the rest of the Borderlands titles, now we’re just waiting on Borderlands 3 to come to the Switch and we’ll be set. Look for Tales of the Borderlands this spring on March 24th.

Capcom Arcade Stadium
This release brings over 32 arcade classics into the future. The games include Street Fighter II, Stryder, and 1943 packaged up for your enjoyment in Capcom Arcade Stadium! Available now!

Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel without a Pulse
The Xbox classic is getting a new coat of paint and is being remastered for Nintendo Switch! The 15-year-old classic is coming back to consoles on March 16!

But Wait! There’s More!

NO MORE HEROES 3
The long-awaited hack and slash action-adventure title is almost here! Travis Touchdown returns on August 27th!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Super Mario 35th Anniversary items are coming to Animal Crossing! We’re pretty excited about this one. The update will feature warp pipes that allow you to fast-travel, decor, and more! The free update will be available later this month on February 25th.

Project: Triangle Strategy
The latest in the HD 3D-2D installment is coming! Project Triangle Strategy is the follow-up to Octopath Traveler. This time the battle system switches from a traditional RPG system to a tactical combat system similar to that of Final Fantasy: Tactics. The decisions you make within the story determine the path your story takes, as well as which allies join you or end up against you. Project: Triangle Strategy releases 2022. A demo is out today!

Hades
Arguably one of the best games of 2020, Hades is getting a physical release along with a download to the soundtrack and a fantastic character compendium in physical book format.

Splatoon 3 – 2022
The colorful and chaotic third-person shooter Splatoon is back! The third installment in the series, Splatoon 3 is coming next year with the release date still unknown.
