A selection of all-new Indie games was featured during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase on April 14th. The roughly 20-minute presentation highlighted 12 games coming soon to a Switch near you. Here is everything announced in today’s showcase.
No two roads are the same in this procedurally-generated digital road trip. Flee Petria’s regime and try to survive out on the open road. You’ll encounter folks from all walks of life. Some may offer their help while others may have far more sinister intentions. Your outcome may vary and each play-through is a new adventure. Take the journey to Road 96 later this summer (summer 2021).
Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield
This stylistic free runner game, similar to the Bit. Trip series is set in a neo-futuristic Detroit. Accompanied by a funky soundtrack you will jump, slide, and dash your way in style as the mysterious Wally. This 3D side-scroller arrives May 19th with a Demo available today!
From the producers of What Remains of Edith Finch, Anapurna Interactive showcased its latest narrative-driven game. A set of three stories interwoven into one incredible adventure with three unique main characters. Last Stop arrives July 2021.
Another title from the producer, Annapurna Interactive. Hindsight is a narrative exploration game in which objects serve as windows into the past. Slow down and peer into the past as you explore the life of a woman from birth to the present day. Hindsight releases later this year.
The latest entry in the OlliOlli series is a beautifully cell-shaded skatefest. Search for the mystical Legendary Skate Gods on the vibrant islands of Radlands. The hit platformer series grinds into its next installment this Winter.
Take on the role of a lonely servant of the last king of an underground kingdom. The king is sleeping and you are tasked with waiting for 400 days until his awakening. IN. REAL. TIME. How you pass the solitary time is up to you. Explore lost caves, complete puzzles, and gather items. The Longing comes to the Nintendo Switch later today!
There is No Game: Wrong Dimension
There Is No Game is a comedy adventure filled with riddles, intentional bugs, and an underlying story somewhere in this game that isn’t here. This game that isn’t a game launches later today.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
Cowabunga dudes! Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo are back in this long-awaited and deserved return to the beat-em-up genre. Shredder’s Revenge looks to be a clear successor to the 90’s classic arcade-style similar to Super Nintendo’s TMNT IV: Turtles In Time. This amazing tribute arrives later this year!
Columbian developers Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK revealed their dark fairytale classical RPG with interesting time-bending mechanics. This love letter to classic JRPGs presents turn-based combat, a fascinating story, and a beautiful hand-drawn world. Discover Cris Tales July 20th.
GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon
This stylized hack and slash puts you to the test in a dark fantasy underworld. Master a variety of weapons and abilities against the dark forces of the underworld. Available next year!
Aztech Forgotten Gods
The indie Mexican studio Lienzo revealed their newest action-adventure game. Discover the world of far-future Mesoamerica and Forgotten Gods in this artistic grand adventure. Play as the courageous, Aschtli, as she battles ancient deities with your support. Discover the truth in Aztech Forgotten Gods this fall (2021).
Skul: The Hero Slayer
This 2D action rogue-lite pits you single-handedly against an army in a bid to free your king. Swap out heads or skulls to adapt to the abilities you’ll need to progress through the game. Coming Summer 2021.
